Q. What does a soda maker do?

A. A soda maker is a kitchen appliance that injects carbon dioxide into water to make carbonated water.

Q. Is carbonated water good for you?

A. Now, unsweetened carbonated water in conjunction with regular water and other low-calorie beverages can keep you hydrated and healthy. Also, drinking carbonated water is a much better option than drinking regular soda or diet soda, which don’t provide adequate hydration.

Q. What are the benefits of a soda maker?

A. Knowing that being hydrated is a healthy thing to do, some prefer to drink unsweetened carbonated water instead of just plain water. Now, you can buy carbonated water in grocery stores and elsewhere. However, over time, drinking store bought carbonated water is expensive. On the other hand, drinking home made carbonated water is more cost effective.

Also, since store bought carbonated water comes in plastic bottles, you end up with a lot of plastic bottles that hopefully get recycled. On the other hand, drinking home made carbonated water eliminates the need for plastic bottles to be discarded. So it is good for the environment.

In addition, home made carbonated water allows you to control the level of carbonation in the water. For example, some may prefer low carbonation levels while other a lot.

Q. Does soda water cause tooth decay?

A. As long as soda water is carbonated "plain water", soda water will not cause tooth decay. In fact, a 1999 study, as well as a 2012 study reported that concentration of carbon dioxide does not harm the enamel of the teeth. However, the key words are "plain water". So, if you add citrus flavors to plain water, you may end up with citric acid in the water. Now, drinking too much of carbonated water with citric acid is not good for your teeth's enamel. So, drink just plain carbonated water to protect your teeth.
