First and foremost, the United States 2018 Farm Bill, signed by the President, legalized the use of hemp. However, hemp is legal only if it contains less than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with the rest being cannabidiols (CBD). Consequently CBD liquids and other similar products made from the hemp extract are legal in all 50 states. Most noteworthy, hemp comes from the same cannabis plant as marijuana.
Meanwhile, while it is still not legalized by the Federal Government, it is now legal to use marijuana in 33 states and Washington DC. Furthermore 17 other states, namely, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming have marijuana specific laws.
In addition, 47 states allow some form of CBD – only Nebraska, South Dakota, and Idaho ban all marijuana use. Most of all, as of July 2018, 85 percent of Americans believe that marijuana should be legalized for medical use.
Like the bursting of a dam, interest in CBD has skyrocketed. For example, searches in Google for CBD are 4 times higher in 2019 than in 2017 with nearly 500,000 people searching every month in the United States alone.
First and foremost, cannabis sativa is the botanical name of a plant species known as Cannabaceae. Moreover, cannabis sativa has several strains. While, the most popular strain is marijuana, the other strain is industrial hemp.
Most noteworthy, the marijuana strain of cannabis sativa has 120 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids. And, one of the cannabinoids, known as Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, is the main psychoactive cannabinoid that gives the “high” associated with cannabis. While, the other non-psychoactive chemical compounds are known as CBD for cannabidiol.
Especially relevant, the marijuana plant produces high levels of THC but low levels of CBD. On the other hand, industrial hemp produces high levels of CBD but very low levels of THC that do not exceed 0.3 percent.
Meanwhile, hemp oil or hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of food-grain strains of hemp which must contain less than 0.3 percent THC. In fact, the seeds are rich in fatty acids and other nutrients. Because the seeds of hemp plants have no cannabinoids, hemp oil does not contain either THC or CBD. But, hemp oil does have high levels of omega fatty acids, vitamins and other nutrients, which may help with pain, stress, brain, and heart. Also, the omega fatty acids and vitamins in hemp oil makes it good for the skin and hair.
In addition, full-spectrum hemp oil, which includes plant matter along with the small seeds is good for treating inflammation. Also, rubbing a bit of hemp seed oil or full-spectrum hemp oil on tight muscles may release tension and relax them. This is because the CBD like fatty acids have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body which helps relieves tension.
First and foremost, hemp extract is a CBD liquid or oil with naturally occurring terpenes, flavonoids, cannabinoids, and other beneficial phytonutrients from the stalk, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant. Most of all, this CBD liquid must have less than 0.3 percent THC. Consequently, hemp based CBD liquids are used to treat pain, stress, anxiety, sleep, and inflammation.
Most of all, in the United States, cannabis oil is made from the marijuana plant. As a result, cannabis oil mostly contains CBD but may have trace amounts of THC. Furthermore, both the hemp extract and cannabis oil are used to treat pain, stress, anxiety, sleep, and inflammation.
So as to avoid confusion, for the remainder of this article, CBD liquids refers generally to either the hemp extract, CBD oil, and cannabis oil.
First of all, CBD is extracted from the flowers and buds of either the marijuana or hemp plants. Next, to get CBD liquids, carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil dilutes the extracted CBD. Furthermore, CBD liquids come in various forms such as softgel capsules, pills, ingestible oils and treats, tinctures, under-the-tongue sprays, and creams that can be applied directly to the skin.
Above all, there are two main types of cannabinoids – endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids. The body naturally produces endocannabinoids, while plants produce phytocannabinoids.
In fact, our bodies have something called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that regulates things like sleeping, appetite, pain, memory, mood, immune system responses, as well as metabolic processes like energy balance. Above all, our ECS exists all over the body.
Indeed, the body’s endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors. Especially relevant, a receptor is a signal-receiving protein, located either on or inside a cell, and that can alter the cell’s behavior when it binds to specific molecules.
Meanwhile, these cannabinoid receptors are found in the digestive, reproductive, nervous, and immune systems. Because cannabinoids interact with almost every system in our bodies, they’re often considered as a cure-all. And, while they’re not truly able to heal everything, they do regulate neurotransmitter functions, inflammation, mitochondrial functions, and metabolism.
And, studies show that, by attaching to receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system and interacting with neurotransmitters, the CBD we ingest (the phytocannabinoids) impacts endocannabinoid receptor activity. As a consequence, the ingested CBDs help alleviate chronic pain, and inflammation.
Ohio physicians are allowed to treat patients with cannabis for medical conditions such as AIDS, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy or other seizure disorders, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, hepatitis C, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, chronic or severe pain, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, PTSD, spinal cord disease or injury, sickle cell anemia, Tourette’s syndrome, traumatic brain injury or ulcerative colitis. Regrettably, currently there is no reliable clinical evidence to support use of cannabis for any of these medical conditions. Yet, if you have any of these conditions and struggling to find help, your best bet is to find a physician who may be willing to try cannabis and see if cannabis helps.
Presently, studies support use of cannabis for treatments of chronic pain or in diseases with symptoms caused by inflammation. Consequently, if you have symptoms associated with traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, chronic or severe pain, spinal cord injury, or ulcerative colitis, cannabis may provide enormous relief. However, it’s noteworthy that there is no evidence yet that cannabis can cure any of these conditions, cannabis can only reduce the severity of the associated symptoms.
For example, there is no evidence that cannabis can cure either Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease. Yet, current evidence suggests that smoking marijuana as an adult may prevent Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
In fact, lab research has shown that stimulating the brain’s endogenous marijuana receptors offers protection by reducing inflammation in the brain and by restoring neurogenesis. Therefore, smoke one puff of marijuana every day between the ages of 30 and 60. And, if in that time, disorders of dementia or shaking appear, it is unlikely smoking marijuana is going to benefit you and you can stop smoking. On the other hand, if disorders do not show up, a single puff is enough to benefit the older brain.
First and foremost, nine percent of the population is affected by acne. Furthermore, causes of acne include, genetics, bacteria, inflammation and overproduction of sebum (an oily secretion made by the sebaceous glands in the skin).
Above all, studies show that CBD liquids helps treat acne for the following reasons.
A 2015 review published in the journal Substance Abuse reported that CBD may have therapeutic effects in people with opioid, cocaine and psychostimulant addiction. In addition, the 2015 review reported that CBD may be able to treat cannabis and tobacco addiction. Most noteworthy, CBD liquids or other forms of CBD helps people with substance abuse by modifying their brain circuits related to drug addiction.
Research released in November 2018 by the Society of Neuroscience, reported that delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) may improve memory and mitigate some of Alzheimer’s disease’s symptoms. Yet, more work still remains to be done.
First and foremost, brain receptor 5-HT1A is a sub-type of the serotonin receptor 5-HT, while Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid or GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Moreover, low levels of brain receptors 5-HT1A and GABA causes anxiety and depression.
Most noteworthy, scientist recently reported that CBD liquids boosts levels of 5-HT1A receptors. Similarly, CBD boost levels of GABA, thereby promoting a balance between enthusiasm and inhibition. However, too much enthusiasm results in anxiety and seizures. In fact, CBD causes a spike in GABA by affecting the GABA-A receptor as a positive allosteric modulator. Furthermore, CBD’s effect amplifies activity among GABA-A receptors in the central nervous system.
Especially relevant, CBD liquids are a potential treatment for both anxiety and depression. Indeed, a 2015 report published in the Journal Neurotherapeutics found evidence that CBD liquids may help treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and social anxiety disorder. However, the report also cautions that human-based research on CBD and anxiety is still quite limited.
Most noteworthy, in another study, people with social anxiety disorder received 600 mg of CBD liquids before a public speaking test. As a result, these people experienced significantly less anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort during their public speaking engagement. Finally, CBD liquids are also used to treat anxiety in children with post-traumatic stress disorder. In conclusion, all of these benefits were due to CBD liquid’s ability to increase levels of serotonin – a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and social behavior.
First of all smoking marijuana causes a strong increase in appetite in many people. In fact marijuana, with its high concentration of THC, increases appetite because THC binds directly to the CB1 endocannabinoid receptors largely found in the brain. These CB1 receptors stimulate hypothalamus regions regulating Ghrelin hormones, which in turn stimulates hunger and appetite. In fact, THC also causes excess food to be stored as fat resulting in weight gain.
On the other hand, while CBD stimulates CB2 receptors found throughout the body and immune system, CBD also inhibits CB1 receptors by blocking the same place THC wants to bind. And by blocking CB1 receptors, the hypothalamus increases secretion of leptin hormones which makes you feel full. So taking a hemp extract pill will suppress your appetite and may cause you to lose weight.
CBD liquids or other forms of CBD are unlikely to make you feel as hungry as THC does. However, because CBD reduces anxiety and relaxes people and improves their mood, people may eat to become healthy again. Which may cause them to get their weight back to normal levels.
Indeed, more than 53 million American adults and 300,000 children suffer from arthritis, thereby making it the leading cause of disability in the United States. Moreover, arthritis is not a single disease, but an umbrella name for joint pain or joint disease. Above all, there are over 100 different types of arthritis.
For example, arthritis joint symptoms may be pain, swelling, stiffness, along with reduced range of motion. Moreover, arthritis symptoms come and go, and they may be severe, moderate, or mild. Also, severe arthritis can result in chronic pain making it difficult to walk, climb stairs or do other daily activities.
In fact, the most common type of arthritis is known as osteoarthritis. Moreover, with osteoarthritis, the cartilage wears away, causing bones to rub against each other, which in turn causes pain, stiffness, and swelling. While over time, the joints lose strength and the pain becomes chronic.
In addition, the next common type of arthritis is known as rheumatoid arthritis. Most of all, with rheumatoid arthritis, the immune system attacks hand and feet joints. Consequently, the inflammation causes swollen, painful, and stiff joints.
Most noteworthy, a 2016 rat model study reported that CBD applied topically, reduces the pain and inflammation of arthritis. On the other hand, a University of Kentucky study reported that applying CBD topically relieved inflammation along with arthritic pain.
Meanwhile a 2017 study reported that CBD may treat and prevent pain as well as nerve damage in osteoarthritis. Especially relevant, the body’s endocannabinoid system has CB2 receptors in the immune system. Consequently, when CBD liquids are ingested, the CBD attaches to these CB2 receptors. As a consequence, the CBD reduces pain and inflammation.
Furthermore, a 2008 study reported that CBD can be used to manage chronic pain.
The National Cancer Institute at NIH reports that clinical trials show beneficial effects of donabinol and nabilone CBD liquids on chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting. Especially relevant, both dronabinol and nabilone have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for prevention and treatment of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. Especially relevant, both donabinol and nabilone contain THC.
On the other hand, there isn’t sufficient evidence to recommend inhaling cannabis as a treatment for cancer-related symptoms or helping chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.
Medical cannabis can be used to treat symptoms of cancer:
First and foremost, the third most common cancer is colorectal cancer. Indeed, in the United States, nearly 8 percent of new cancer cases in 2018 were colorectal cancer. And while rates of this cancer have been falling in the United States, rates and deaths from this cancer have been rising in people over the age of 50.
Recently the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine reported that they found ten synthetic cannabinoids that stopped the growth of seven types of colorectal cancer cells. However, phytocannabinoids like CBD and THC were not able to do so.
Most of all, over 500,000 people in the United States are affected by Cerebral Palsy. First of all, cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder affecting a child’s motor skills, movements, and muscle tone. Examples of cerebral palsy conditions most treatable by cannabis include pain, spastic quadriplegia, painful muscle spasms, and speech disorders.
THC is the most effective pain reliever, but because of its psychotropic side effect, CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills are used as a non-psychoactive option.
The euphoric feeling produced by CBC, CBD, CBG, CBN, and THC are most effective at treating symptoms of depression and hopelessness.
Sleep difficulties are most effectively treated using strains containing CBC, CBD, CBN, THC, along with indica strains.
Cannabis is a proven treatment for seizures. Therefore, medical cannabis with CBD, CBN, THC-A, and THC-V are most effective for treatment.
Regrettably, rigid muscles cause intense pain for Cerebral Palsy patients. In addition, rigid muscles result in speech impairments and walking difficulties. And, strains high in CBD, CBG, CBN, THC, and THC-A are most effective at treating spasticity.
Crohn’s disease is a condition that causes inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, occurring anywhere from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) on the other hand, is a condition where the inflammation is limited to the colon, also known as the large intestine. While Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is an umbrella term covering both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Moreover, symptoms include weight loss, fever, diarrhea, bleeding, constipation, abdominal pain and cramps, a sensation that the bowels have not emptied properly, as well as feeling an urgent necessity to go to the bathroom. In addition, other symptoms include appetite loss, weight loss, fatigue, fever, and sweating at night.
Meanwhile, Crohn’s disease is a severe type of inflammatory bowel disease. And, in IBD, the immune system attacks tissue in the gastrointestinal tract, or gut, causing inflammation. Regrettably, medical cannabis has no impact on gut inflammation that is a characteristic of Crohn’s disease. Moreover, studies also show that the anti-inflammatory effects of cannabinoids have no effect on Crohn’s disease.
But medical cannabis can relieve Crohn disease symptoms and improve quality of life. Therefore, many people use medical cannabis to relieve their symptoms.
Moreover, studies show that CBD liquids or other Hemp Extract products result in significant reduction of Crohn’s disease symptoms. In fact, 65 percent of those taking CBD liquids, met strict criteria for clinical remission, along with improvement in quality of life. However, there was no significant improvements in inflammatory markers.
So CBD liquids provide temporary symptoms relief. However, more research is being done by binding cannabinoids to receptors of the body’s endocannabinoid system, and use the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD liquids.
A study published in the Journal of Diabetes Research in 2016 found no correlation between cannabis and diabetes. However, research shows that cannabis may help stabilize blood sugars, prevent nerve inflammation, lower blood pressure, keep blood vessels open and improve circulation. For people with Type 1 diabetes, research has found that CBD liquids can reduce the occurrence and delay the onset of the disease. Also, it has been found that THC suppresses the disease’s autoimmune response, thereby reducing the amount of insulin needed for treatment.
More research found other benefits including:
Endometriosis is a frequently painful condition that occurs when the tissue that normally grows inside your uterus, the endometrium, grows outside of the uterus. Above all, the endometrial tissue can also grow on the ovaries, fallopian tubes and other parts of the abdomen.
However, even though the tissue is outside the uterus, there is nothing intrinsically life-threatening about the tissue. Most of all, it still acts like it should during your menstrual cycles. As a result, when your period ends, the tissue breaks apart and bleeds. However, unlike typical menstruation, your body traps the blood and tissue. And, this triggers inflammation along with scarring as your body struggles to reabsorb the dead material.
Regrettably, about 5 to 10 percent of women suffer from endometriosis. And their symptoms include:
Regrettably, currently, there is no cure for endometriosis. Especially relevant, women with endometriosis have fewer CB1 receptors in their endometrial tissue. And with fewer CB1 receptors to act as a brake, symptoms of endometriosis exacerbate thereby causing the condition to spread.
Most noteworthy, epilepsy effects more than 50 million people worldwide, and 468,000 of them are children. Moreover, there is not one, but almost 40 different types and ways a person or a child suffers from a seizure. Also, because there are many causes and many different kind of seizures, epilepsy affects people in very different ways.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) classifies epilepsy as a disorder of the brain that can cause repeated, unprovoked seizures, resulting in unusual behavior, sensations, and loss of awareness in the affected individuals.
Especially relevant, a seizure occurs when the brain’s electrical activity becomes dysregulated and all the neurons fire repeatedly at the same time. Consequently, this disrupts functioning in the area of the brain where rhythmic synchronized firing is happening. Also, seizures are commonly due to the following:
However, most seizure disorders occur for no known reasons.
While, epilepsy is an incurable disorder, there are medicines, for most patients, that are able to control seizures. However, if common medications don’t work well, people tend to resort to alternative treatments such as CBD liquids, Hemp Extract pills, and others.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), in June of 2018, approvedEPIDIOLEX® (cannabidiol, CBD) as a drug made with purified form of CBD oil. Furthermore, EPIDIOLEX has been approved as an oral solution for the treatment of seizures associated with two epilepsy syndromes – Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome – in children two years of age or older.
Above all, EPIDIOLEX represents a new medication option for children with these types of epilepsy. Especially relevant, EPIDIOLEX is also the first ever FDA approved medication for treating Dravet syndrome seizures.
While this CBD oil significantly reduced seizure activity in children with Dravet syndrome, some children experienced adverse reactions such as convulsions, fever and diarrhea.
Regrettably, medical cannabis, CBD, and THC all have possible side effects. In fact, the most common side effects of CBD oils include sleepiness, diarrhea, fatigue, and decreased appetite. CBD oils also interact with some other seizure medicines.
The FDA approved CBD oil (Epidiolex from GW Pharmaceuticals) for use in children with specific seizure disorders. Regrettably, only a few anecdotal reports, provided by care givers, claim reduction in seizure frequency with this CBD oil. However, electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings do not show any significant benefits from the CBD oil. As a result, the verdict is not in if CBD oils are helpful. But since the FDA has now approved Epdolex, we may soon have the answer.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder where musculoskeletal pain all over the body is accompanied by sleep, memory loss, fatigue, and moodiness. Most of all, symptoms present themselves after a physical trauma, infection, surgery, or intense psychological stress. In addition, symptoms include a constant widespread dull ache, waking up tired even after sleeping for long periods, sleep disrupted by pain, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, inability to focus, pay attention, or concentrate on mental tasks.
One study has reported a relation between fibromyalgia and deficiencies in the body’s endocannabinoid system. And, there is only anecdotal evidence that medical cannabis brings relief to fibromyalgia patients. However, researchers did find that cannabis oil users experienced reduced pain and stiffness, as well as finding it easier to relax. Therefore, medical cannabis may help reduce severity of symptoms. For example, medical cannabis is very effective at reducing chronic pain without the dependence associated with opioid based medications. Also medical cannabis regulates sleep and stimulate the mind while promoting wakefulness.
First and foremost, glaucoma damages the eye’s optic nerve when fluids build up in the front part of the eye. Moreover, these clear fluids, known as aqueous humor, maintain the integrity of the eye. In fact, the ciliary body produces aqueous humor.
Meanwhile, the excess fluid increases pressure, known as intraocular pressure (IOP), in your eye, which damages the optic nerve. Regrettably, the fluid accumulates because the eye does not drain the fluid as well as it should, likely because of a clogged drain.
Most noteworthy, smoking marijuana lowers IOP. Regrettably, the tolerance developed after repeated smoking, coupled with adverse side effects of marijuana, preclude smoking marijuana as a viable treatment. Furthermore, the reduction in IOP pressure from smoking marijuana usually lasts only 3 to 4 hours. Consequently, you would need to smoke marijuana 8 to 10 times a day. Therefore, preference is for treating glaucoma by other more effective and less harmful ways.
A small 2017 study in the journal JCI Insight reported that CBD liquids may help prevent stress-related changes in blood pressure. For example, one 600 mg dose reduced resting blood pressure. In fact, researchers think the stress and anxiety reducing properties of CBD liquids causes blood pressure to drop.
Most of all, a study from the National Center for Biotechnology Information reported that CDB liquids suppress inflammatory responses. Furthermore, this property of CBD liquids is mediated through multiple pathways such as suppression of cytokines and chemokines at inflammatory sites. Indeed, by suppressing cytokine production and inducing T-regulatory cells to protect the body from attacking itself, CBD liquids helps autoimmune conditions.
Most noteworthy, clinical trials using three doses of 160 mg of CBD liquids helped subjects sleep significantly more with the volunteers reporting significantly less dream recall. Most noteworthy, CBD liquids is used to treat insomnia in children with post-traumatic stress disorder.
First of all, a mood disorder is characterized by wide swings from hyper mania to severe depression. Meanwhile an example of a mood disorder includes bipolar disorder.
Moreover, these mood swings are due to neurochemical imbalances in the limbic system that consisting of the hypothalamus, hippocampus, and the amygdala. Because the limbic system regulates emotions, an imbalanced limbic system, causes anxiety, depression, and irritability.
Also, neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine regulate mood. Ultimately, a person’s sense of well-being and emotions depends on the amount of serotonin and/or dopamine produced.
Above all, the prescribed medications include anti-psychotics and antidepressants. However, CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills may provide an effective alternative, but consult with your primary care physician first.
Pure CBD liquids may help treat mood swings and stabilize emotions. Meanwhile, CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). Most of all, ECS is a network of receptors and cannabinoids working in harmony to maintain balance. Moreover, naturally produced cannabinoids allow the ECS to function properly and communicate with their cannabinoid receptors. But external cannabinoids like CBD liquids can also influence the ECS. This CBD effects the ECS by binding to ECS’s CB1 and CB2 receptors.
Most of all, when there is deficiency in the body’s cannabinoids, mood swings occur. Consequently, ingesting CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills augments the body’s own cannabinoids. As a result the ECS helps reduce pain, improve sleep, regulate appetite, and regulate mood disorders.
Moreover, studies have shown that CBD oil is more effective than prescribed medications. Indeed, a study in the Journal Neuropharmacology confirmed that serotonin and dopamine impact mood regulation and endocannabinoids have direct control over the production and maintenance of these hormones.
Ultimately, mood disorders like bipolar disorders are associated with oxidative stress that causes free radicals to be produced in the brain. Therefore, CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills with their anti-oxidative and neuroprotective properties protects the brain by hindering production of free radicals.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disability with symptoms like painful muscle spasms, tremors, motor control loss, blurred vision, mental fatigue, depression and anxiety.
CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills help MS patients in the following ways.
First and foremost, one of the biggest issues MS sufferers have to deal with is inflammation in the brain. Regrettably, inflammation leads to neural degeneration, which worsens symptoms and can lead to further damage of the central nervous system. Therefore, ingesting the anti-inflammatory CBD liquids help reduce inflammation.
Next, MS patients suffer from spasticity, tremors, and poor muscle control. And, studies have found that CBD liquids are effective in controlling muscle tone which can greatly improve the severity and frequency of spasticity and tremors. The United Kingdom, Canada, and several European countries have approved Nabiximols (also known as Sativex). Moreover, Sativex is a mouth spray that contains both THC and CBD. And, Sativex treats muscle control problems caused by MS. However, the United Stated Food and Drug Administration hasn’t approved it yet. Especially relevant, one study reported that Sativex reduced spasms in people with multiple sclerosis experiencing muscle spasticity. Yet, another study of people with MS showed that one month of treatment with a combination of CBD and THC resulted in significant improvement in pain, muscle spasms, and walking.
CBD liquids or Hemp Extract pills mostly relieve pain. In fact, they are very effective for chronic pain, which is specially a problem for Americans as they get older. Most of all, CBD liquids are safer than opiates. Also, because for some people, advil or aleve create kidney, ulcer or GERD problems, CBD liquids can be used instead.
In addition, CBD liquids ease nerve pain. And they are better than Neurontin, lyrica, or opiates because people can resume their normal activities. Especially relevant, CBD liquids inhibit transmission of neuronal signaling though pain pathways.
Also, studies have found that CBD and THC together, in a spray called Sativex, effectively treats arthritic pain. In addition, Sativex caused significant improvement in pain during movement, pain at rest, and sleep quality.
Finally, a 2017 study reported that CBD liquids are an effective replacement for opioids. Also, CBD liquids decrease opioid related mortality and decrease related traffic fatalities.
Most of all, CBD liquids are a muscle relaxant and they lessen the tremors of Parkinson’s disease. In fact, several studies show CBD liquids improve quality of life and sleep quality for people with Parkinson’s diseases.
Especially relevant, CBD liquids have antipsychotic properties. Indeed, after 6 weeks of treatment, CBD liquids lowered levels of positive psychotic symptoms. Moreover, as a result of these treatments, people were more likely to have been rated as improved and as not severely unwell. Also, patients treated with CBD liquids showed greater improvements in cognitive performance. In summary, CBD liquids helps people with schizophrenia and other mental disorders.
The highly nutritious hemp seed oil, along with vitamins and fatty acids may keep skin healthy. Indeed, a study found hemp seed oil rich in fatty acids is very healthful. So it is great for nourishing the skin and protecting it from inflammation, oxidation, and signs of aging. The study also found that hemp seed oil strengthens the skin and makes it better able to resist infection. The study also reports that hemp seed oil can be used for treating skin problems like eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, varicose eczema, lichen planus (a condition where the skin is inflamed), and acne rosacea.
First of all, nearly 4 to 5 million American suffer from spinal cord injury. And, about 42 percent of these are due to motor vehicle accidents.
Regrettably, a spinal cord injury can result in a loss of many functions including the sensory-motor function. Furthermore, side effects include chronic pain, sleeping difficulties, and muscle spasms. In addition, a majority of patients regularly experience chronic pain that are neuropathic, musculoskeletal, and visceral.
Especially relevant, an article in the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine reported that medical cannabis provided the most relief from pain. Furthermore, CBD liquids also work as a muscle relaxant by relieving muscle spasms.
Indeed, one study showed that Sativex spray, which is a combination of CBD and THC, helped reduce muscle spasms. In addition, another similar study reported that no tolerance developed to the benefits of Sativex on pain or sleep. Furthermore, in safety extension studies, no need for dosage increases developed for up to four years. Finally, the study reported that 40-50 percent of subjects attained good or very good sleep quality. Indeed, in chronic pain syndromes, sleep quality is a key source of disability that contributes to patients’ quality of life.
First of all, motor and vocal tics are characteristics of Tourette’s syndrome. In addition, the most prevalent symptoms are motor tics, with their abrupt and repetitive movements. While sounds, repeated over and over, for no apparent reason, are known as vocal tics.
Most of all, controlled trials using oral delta-9-tetrahydropcannabinal (THC) have not shown as great or consistent an improvement as inhaled (smoked or vaporized) cannabis. Yet another study reported that medical cannabis had striking improvements in symptoms of patients with moderate to severe symptoms. However, most patients did report one or more adverse effects such as feeling “high”, cognitive effects, and anxiety. Like in the other study, patients had much greater improvements in their symptoms using inhaled cannabis compared with pure oral THC or the oral CBD liquid – nabilone.
First of all, fast acting CBD products such as e-liquids may provide the quickest relief. For example, the e-liquid, Koi CBD, is a pure CBD product made from the hemp plant. Regrettably, the effect wears off in two to three hours.
Moreover, an even faster way to get relief is by inhaling CBD using vape cartridges. For example, inhaling CBD may relieve symptoms of anxiety in minutes, which is a benefit when you are on the go.
However, if inhaling is a cause of concern, tincture oils dropped under your tongue provide relief in 15 to 20 minutes. Finally, CBD edibles, such as chocolate bars, and Hemp Extract pills or capsules are an economical way to get relief. For example, HempBomb gummies provide relief within 30 minutes to a couple of hours.
Most of all, the US Federal Drug Administration has yet to regulate CBD liquids. Also, a 2017 study found that nearly 70 percent of CBD liquids didn’t contain the amount of marijuana extract stated on the labels. In fact, 43 percent of CBD liquids contained too little CBD while 26 percent contained too much. Also, less than 20 percent of the CBD liquids is ingested.
Regrettably, 20 percent of CBD liquids contain a little too much THC. This is bad because THC increases anxiety and it can actually make seizures worse. So it’s best to work with doctors working with CBD liquids and are aware of its uses and potential problems.
Furthermore, in a recent study of 84 CBD products bought online showed that more than a quarter contained less CBD than what was on the label. While THC was found in 18 of the products. Meanwhile, check the label for presence of THC because it’s not legal in several states.
The following is a list of CBD liquid’s potential side effects.
